American Traditional Tattoos - process

To start my project looking into this style tattoos, I collected a range of imagery from online and images i took and edited myself. I wanted mix the imagery found of peoples tattoos with colours and texture that I could relate to the subject matter. Below are some of the imagers I took and edited.

then i went on to print these images out and rip then up and scan them back in whilst incorporating the images of the tattoos and sailors

After this I also ripped up the images of the tattoos and sailors doing this was what gave me my final collage backgrounds to allow me to then edit on top of.
